Install Toolkit

The Install Toolkit (ITK) provides you with the tools necessary to build an embedded installation of the Pervasive PSQL database client and/or engine. With these tools you can develop a seamless installation for your application and its DBMS.
With PSQL you have three installation options:

1. Run or call out to the interactive or GUI install
2. Run or call out to the silent install
3. Develop a custom install using your installation tool

The toolkit includes documentation and samples, which you can use to familiarize yourself with the different embedding options.

Pervasive PSQL Summit v10

The install for Pervasive PSQL Summit v10 is design using Windows Installer technology (MSI), this allows you to create an easy to use install that enables you to create complete and custom installations using merge modules or components for embedding or deploying Pervasive PSQL based on your requirements. With PSQL v10 there is nothing to distribute, to learn how to create your own packages and take advantage of these new features, review the install toolkit guide.

Pervasive PSQL v9.5 (SP2)

If you would like to embed the PSQL v9 install as is, but not require user input during the install process, please review the silent install documentation in the Install Toolkit Handbook.
Custom install development in PSQL v9 requires that you first install the PSQL component (client, server, or workgroup) on your development PC. PSQL installs are available from the trial download page. Once PSQL is installed, you can utilize the following resources to help pick files from the PSQL installation to use in your custom install.

In order to help illustrate the install process, examples of custom installs, including the source code and configuration options, are available in the following download. You may utilize these samples to develop alternative installs or to better understand the PSQL install process.
Download ITK Samples

The PSQL v9 ITK Samples are built using the free utility Inno Setup. Inno Setup is available for download here. The samples pull files from an existing PSQL client installation. In order to compile the samples, you will need to install both Inno Setup and the PSQL v9 SP1 client.
